| CHHS Students First Scholarship | The College of Health and Human Sciences Students First Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students in the College with high scholastic standing. |
| Pearle E. Betts Study Abroad Scholarship | The Pearle E. Betts Study Abroad Scholarship was established when Ms. Betts, a 1939 graduate of Colorado State University, who bequeathed her entire estate to the University. Ms. Betts earned a M.S. degree in Vocational Home Economics and had a long career teaching high school Home Economics classes. This scholarship awards $500 to an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in any of the following departments/programs: Design and Merchandising; Food Science and Human Nutrition; Human Development and Family Studies; or Consumer and Family Studies. Applicants must be accepted into an international study abroad program. Application is made through the Study Abroad Program at www.studyabroad.colostate.edu. Deadline is April 15 for Fall or Academic Year Programs. |
| Gail Farthing Brown Memorial Scholarship | The Gail Farthing Brown Memorial Scholarship was established by Gail’s husband, Clarence Brown. Gail was a 1944 Home Economics graduate, majoring in Dietetics. Gail met Clarence while attending Colorado A & M, and all four of their sons graduated from Colorado State. This scholarship is awarded to junior or senior students majoring in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related major, with selection based on a minimum 3.0 GPA. |
| Velma Borschell Budin Scholarship | The Velma Borschell Budin Scholarship was established in 1983 by Mrs. Budin, a 1925 graduate of Home Economics. Recipients must be seniors or graduate students majoring in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related* area. Selection criteria include service contributions and other factors consistent with the philosophy of Family and Consumer Sciences. |
| Chamberlain Family Graduate Scholarship | The Chamberlain Family Graduate Scholarship is given in honor of the Logan Chamberlain family. Logan received his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development in the College of Applied Human Sciences. The award is given to graduate students in any major in the College of Applied Human Sciences, who demonstrate financial need, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and are thesis or doctoral candidates working on research with a practical application. Non-traditional aged students are encouraged to apply. |
| Columbine Health Systems Undergraduate Scholarship | The Columbine Health Systems Undergraduate Scholarship is given by Mr. J. Robert Wilson, owner of Columbine Health Systems, a locally owned and operated health system. Awards are given to undergraduate students who are enrolled in the gerontology interdisciplinary minor. Recipients must retain a minimum 3.0 GPA and show University or community service. |

| May Dubois Memorial Scholarship | The May Dubois Memorial Scholarship was established with an estate gift from Emma Agnes Dubois in memory of her sister, May. The scholarship is for students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. |
| Eva Floy Smith Wheeler Memorial Scholarship | The Eva Floy Smith Wheeler Memorial Scholarship was established and endowed by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Dorothy Wheeler, in 1981. Mrs. Wheeler was a 1922 graduate of Home Economics. The award is given to a senior in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related major who is an active member of a leadership or professional group in his/her area of study. Selection is based on financial need, leadership, and scholarship. |
| Florence R. Shepardson Memorial Scholarship | The Florence R. Shepardson Scholarship was established from Mr. Charles Shepardsonâ??s estate in memory of his first wife. Awarded to undergraduates in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related* area, the scholarship requires applicants to have a 3.00 minimum GPA and be of good moral character and sound citizenship. |
| Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Scholarship | The Family and Consumer Sciences Alumni Scholarship was established with donations from alumni and friends of the program. The scholarship is designated for an incoming freshman or transfer student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. |
| Lucille Fee Scholarship | The Lucille Fee Scholarship was established in 1983 by friends of Ms. Fee, a graduate of Colorado State who devoted her career to vocational education. Awarded to a junior or senior in Family and Consumer Sciences Education or master’s or doctoral candidates in vocational education or similar teacher licensure program. Demonstrate leadership in school, community, and professional activities related to Family and Consumer Sciences Education. |
| Alice M. Ford Scholarship | The Alice M. Ford Scholarship was established in honor of Dr. Ford who received her Master’s degree from Colorado State and taught Home Economics for many years. Awarded to undergraduate majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences. |
| Elizabeth Dyar Gifford Scholarship | The Elizabeth Dyar Gifford Scholarship was established by friends of Dean Gifford in honor of her 34 years of service at Colorado State. Dean Gifford passed away in 1997 and bequeathed part of her estate to the endowment. This scholarship is awarded to junior, senior, or graduate students majoring in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related field. Selection is based on leadership in campus, community, and professional activities. |
| Donald E. and Esther L. Harbison Memorial Scholarship | The Donald E. and Esther L. Harbison Memorial Scholarship is given by their daughter, Dona Hildebrand, and her late husband, Floyd, in memory of her parents who graduated from Colorado A. & M. in 1926 – Esther with a degree in Home Economics and Donald in Forestry. Esther was also a member of Omicron Nu, the Home Economics honorary society. This scholarship is awarded to a student in a Family and Consumer Sciences related major who is a non-traditional or transfer student, and demonstrates financial need. |
| Melvin and Margaret Bennington Hazaleus Memorial Scholarship | The Melvin and Margaret Bennington Hazaleus Scholarship was established by Margaret in 1989. Margaret received a Bachelor’s degree in 1941 and a Master’s in 1970 from Colorado State. An emeritus professor and assistant dean of the former Home Economics/Human Resource Sciences College, (now the College of Applied Human Sciences), Mrs. Hazaleus passed away in 1998. Awards are for students in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related field. |
| Lydia Anne Hoffman Morrison Centennial Scholarship | The Lydia Anne Hoffman Morrison Centennial Scholarship was established by her family in 1994 in honor of Mrs. Morrison, who received a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics in 1916. She turned 100 years old in October 1993 and was recognized at Colorado State’s 100th birthday party for Home Economics. Lydia passed away in 1996 at the age of 102. The scholarship is given to undergraduate students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences Education with a career expectation of teaching Family and Consumer Sciences. |
| Human Resource Sciences Alumni Scholarship | The Human Resource Sciences Alumni Scholarship was established by the HRS Alumni Council with gifts from friends and alumni of the College of Human Resource Sciences (now the College of Applied Human Sciences). The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related* field, with selection related to professional promise. |
| Emma Ulsaker Hulquist Memorial Scholarship | The Emma Ulsaker Hulquist Memorial Scholarship was established by Mrs. Hulquist�¢??s daughters, Jewel Varwig and Betty Sherritt, and their husbands in honor of her service to Colorado State and commitment to education. Given to sophomores or juniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have demonstrated involvement in extracurricular activities. Recipients must either be a major in Human Development and Family Studies or pursuing teacher certification in Family and Consumer Sciences. |
| Kotsiopulos Memorial Scholarship | The Kotsiopulos Memorial Scholarship is presented to a junior or senior in the College of Applied Human Sciences who has documented “people helping people” volunteer service or employment. Preference is given to Design and Merchandising or Occupational Therapy students, with financial need considered. |
| Myron Brown Ludlow Scholarship | The Myron Brown Ludlow Scholarship is given to an AHS sophomore, junior, or senior male student with high scholastic achievement and limited financial means. |
| Gertrude A. McCord Award | Phi Kappa Phi is a national honor society that recognizes an Outstanding Junior from each college. The student selected for the Junior Award must be in the upper 7.5 percent (minimum 3.5 GPA) of the College’s junior class and also have made a professional contribution or have been of significant service to the University. |
| Moore/Poudre Valley Hospital Scholarship | The Moore/Poudre Valley Hospital Scholarship, established by Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Moore, is available for students who are taking at least five credits at Colorado State and are employed at Poudre Valley Health System. Recipient must have an interest in working in Northern Colorado after graduation. |
| Family and Consumer Sciences Professional Promise Scholarship | This scholarship was established by the Colorado Association of Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences in recognition of the importance of family and consumer sciences teachers. The recipient must be a full time junior or senior Family and Consumer Sciences Education student, have a 3.0 GPA, and have a career goal of becoming a FACS teacher or FCCLA advisor. They must provide evidence of professional promise in the FCS teaching profession. Priority will be given to past FCCLA members. |
| Redmond Family Scholarship | The Redmond Family Scholarship was established in memory of Hayes and Helen Redmond and daughter, Madelon, by their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. Madelon Redmond Wills graduated from Colorado State University in 1958 with a Bachelorâ??s degree in Nutrition. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time student in Applied Human Sciences who may not qualify for merit-based scholarships but is a high ability student deserving of scholarship consideration. |
| Delano F. Scott Scholarship in AHS | The Delano F. Scott Scholarship is presented to male undergraduates with a minimum sophomore standing, pursuing any major in the College of Applied Human Sciences. The selection is based in part on financial need. |
| Lois and Lola Tarr Scholarship | The Lois and Lola Tarr Scholarship was established by Lois Tarr Smith and Lola Tarr Case, 1940 alumnae of the College of Home Economics. Mrs. Case passed away in 2003. It is awarded to a Colorado resident in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Recipients must be active in their department, University, community, or church. This award is automatically renewed if the recipient reapplies and maintains scholarship standards. |
| Lucille and Charles Terrell Memorial Award | The Lucille and Charles Terrell Memorial Award was established by Mr. Charles Terrell in memory of his wife, who was a 1939 graduate of Home Economics. It is awarded to a junior or senior, based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and participation in campus activities. This year’s recipient receives a cash award and name is inscribed on a permanent plaque in the Dean’s Office. |
| Jo Thimmig Memorial Scholarship | The Josephine Hoge Thimmig Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. John Thimmig in memory of his wife, who was a 1938 graduate of Home Economics. Dr. Thimmig passed away in 2003. The recipient must be a junior or senior in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related area, with selection based primarily on scholastic achievement. |
| Natalie Knight Tipton/Stantec Scholarship | The Natalie Knight Tipton/Stantec Scholarship was established by Mr. R.J. Tipton in honor of his wife, Natalie, a 1916 graduate of Home Economics. It is awarded to sophomores, juniors, or seniors majoring in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related area with selection based on a minimum 3.25 GPA and activity in University/community service. |
| University Distinguished Professors Scholarship | The University Distinguished Professors Scholarship was started in 2011 to recognize an excellent graduate student. It will be awarded annually to rotating colleges. In 2013-2014, a College of Applied Human Sciences student will be the recipient. Recipients must be full- or part-time graduate students, with a 3.0 GPA within their major. Complete an application available through graduate coordinators in each unit (or email tracy.kile_schwartz@colostate.edu to request an application form) and submit via email by 5 p.m. March 1, 2013. |

Voelzel, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of the Voelzels, who were both Colorado State alumni. The award is given to a student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who has been involved in community or club activities. Recipients must have completed their freshman year in a Family and Consumer Sciences-related field. |
| Evelyn L. Ward & Family Scholarship | This scholarship is presented by Evelyn Ward, a 1942 Home Economics alum, and her family. Evelyn is a Colorado native and worked as a teacher, Extension home agent, and social worker. Because of her deep commitment to education access, she wishes to assist students in their pursuit of a college degree. Recipients must be a full time student enrolled in the College of Applied Human Sciences, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a 2.5 GPA. |
| Dr. Lynne White Memorial Scholarship | The Dr. Lynne White Memorial Scholarship is given in memory of Dr. White who graduated from Colorado State with an M.S. in Consumer Affairs in 1980 and considered her graduate work at the university to be one of the most valuable experiences of her life. Selection is based on potential for a high level of professional achievement in the field of study, with financial need considered. |
