Student Affairs in Higher Education

Requirements and Curriculum

The M. S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education is offered through a residential program and an online program. Faculty members who teach in the program hold administrative positions in the university. These individuals combine academic preparation within the field with practical day-to-day knowledge of the operation of a university. An important feature of the program is the opportunity to gain an array of professional experiences. While most students receive assistantships, all students use the University as a laboratory to gain practical experiences. Our graduate placement rate is 100% each year. Students complete a comprehensive portfolio that illustrates growth in multiple professional competency areas. Students complete self assessments and receive feedback from faculty and assistantship supervisors on their professional achievement levels. This provides students with strategies to enhance their knowledge, skills, and experience as they focus on opportunities for professional development.
